Review of Mondes Parallèles

"The translations tend to be direct, especially when translating from the English. A little more freedom is taken in translating the dialect poems, such as the addition of 'comme des fous' in 'Lizzie Coutts' Knowe'. This liberty is nonetheless effective in achieving the same feeling of the excitement of sledging found in the original...The advantage Mondes Parallèles has in being bilingual is that it presents both De Luca's appreciation of her native land to locals, and gives an insight of life in Shetland to French speakers."
